1. If you could define Krusha Sahjwani Malkani in one effective sentence, what would it be?

A forever student!

2. You have been a multi-passionate person throughout your life, how do you find the energy and time to fulfill them?

I think the thing about being multi-passionate is that you derive your energy from those very passions. So ironically not making time for them, leaves you feeling less energetic.

3. Tell us more about your professional success as the Head and Director of Asia at Sociabble?

Sociabble is very special to me. I’ve been with the company for 6+ years. It started with a 6-month contract to work out of their Paris office. I showcased success there and then brought the company to India to set up here alone in a market that wasn’t ready but something kept me going. And I’m so glad it did because today we are a complete team here in India and the company continues to grow here in Asia as well as globally by leaps and bounds each year. The company culture is unmatched and the bootstrapped vision is inspiring!

4. You published your debut fiction book, could you give us a peek into the protagonist’s mind?

Yes, I did! The book is called ‘The Year that Changed Everything’. The protagonist is a 22-year-old girl, Kinjal who loses her father. She shared a dysfunctional relationship with the man so its difficult to process. To make it tougher (or easier) she finds his diaries and it unveils so much she didn’t know about her father. The book takes you on her journey as she unpacks that, alongside regular coming-of-age situations at her age like her love life and career.

5. Tell us that one major moment in life that changed your entire perspective and pushed you into coaching?

I think coaching was a gradual find for me. I was always told I’d be a good therapist but something about it didn’t fit for me. So coaching was the answer to that itch I’d been trying to scratch but it took years for it to find me, or me it. The final push however was during the pandemic when the urge was stronger than ever to create impact and add value to others using this skill and so I went back to school in 2020-21 and launched my coaching business in early 2022.

6. You have built a very strong personal brand on Linkedin, any guidance for beginner coaches who want to build their brand presence?

What’s worked for me may sound very cliché but it’s the truth – being consistent and authentic! I didn’t have a plan. I just loved to write and LinkedIn gave my words a home. And I continued to just post regularly and from the heart and stayed true to my voice. Luckily, that worked out!

7. What was your childhood dream and how has it helped you build your career?

My childhood dream was to become an author which I have finally fulfilled and started taking more seriously. I think writing as a skill has helped me tremendously in my career whether it meant writing the right kind of emails (my managers always said I had a way with words), or putting out LinkedIn posts that struck a cord or even spoken word in my sales pitches.

8. What are your plans for the next 5 years? Seems farfetched, but I know you would have envisioned it!

I work best with 1 year at a time. But I can let you in on my vision. In this next decade (which is also my 30s) – I want to do a lot more purposeful work that puts me in a flow state as often as possible. I see this happen in content creation for me, whether it’s social media, articles, podcasts. Definitely in writing – I’d like to ideally write more books and be part of such creative projects. In coaching – this was my first year in the business and I’ve gained valuable experience but I’d now like to slowly see this blossom into a more clear vision – ideally to help more women in India come into their own and kick ass at life! Personally, I definitely see a lot of family time in this phase of life, continue to spend time with loved friends, travel, and continue to focus on personal health and fitness, and hobbies! So yes, it’s fairly broad at the moment and I keep a very open mind to any changes in this plan. Someone above is planning this out way better than I can. I’m just doing my bit 😊

9. What can your readers expect exclusively from you when they subscribe to your newsletter?

Please share the link

In my newsletter I share content exclusive to the newsletter and not part of my posts on LinkedIn. It’s currently focused on coaching and just ways to best make use of it and also improve our quality of life. As with all my content, it’s based on personal reading or experiences.

10. Recession and AI taking over jobs are the two fears in everybody’s mind. How can we combat and thrive in situations like these?

I think first what you focus on grows so I try not to have my focus on fears. Secondly, to ensure continuous upskilling and personal growth. And look at AI for example as an opportunity, not a threat. I am happy to see if it can make my life easier and we work lesser hours while creating more impact – why not? Let AI grow but ensure we keep growing even more 😊
